Re: Why is the 360's dashboard looking more like Windows?

The Xbox 360 Dashboard changed to that layout back in December. Microsoft is moving towards this across all platforms. I'm assuming this is being done to make things easier for consumers, so they don't have several different interfaces to learn and all devices will have a common look/feel. The Xbox 360 Dashboard, Windows 8, and Windows Phone all look/work basically the same.

I'm an Apple person though, so the common Windows interface doesn't really apply to me.

I guess if you compare the systems (PS3's XMB, Wii, and 360) the interface isn't all that bad. But it's not nearly as fun as it used to be in my opinion.

Apple person here also. Just got my new Retina MacBook Pro.

The switch to the Metro interface on the Xbox 360 was a little odd at first, but now I'm used to it and don't even really think about it. I have Windows Phone 7.5 on my work cell phone, and Metro is actually pretty nice on there. It's a HUGE improvement over the old Microsoft phone OS...but it still wouldn't get me to give up my iPhone. I'm not too sure about having Metro for a desktop OS (Windows 8). It might be OK if the machine has some sort of touchscreen or something, but it just seems weird with a mouse (I downloaded the pre-release trial).
