I noticed further in this thread that you mentioned ACPI being related to the correct shutdown.
I ran an energy test on this computer a few months ago and it mentioned this:
"Platform Power Management Capabilities:PCI Express Active-State Power Management (ASPM) Disabled
PCI Express Active-State Power Management (ASPM) has been disabled due to a known incompatibility with the hardware in this computer."
Does that have anything to do with this?
