[TV] HD PVR with standard digital subscription

Hello

Im wondering if anyone knows if you can use a HD PVR stb if you only subscribe to standard digital tv with shaw. You would think you could still watch the standard DTV channels and record them, but I dont know. I seen a refurbished box at the store that I would like to try. It might be the 3400 series but the ad was vague. I realize my picture isnt going to be much better, its more of the different options it has and the PVR function that I like.

Sure can! All of the HD-capable equipment can also deal with SD digital stuff.

Thanks

I called the store and they told me it was the Pace TDC776D model. I haven't used PACE at all and dont know much about them.

Wondering about the pros and cons with this model. Would it be similar functionality to the DCT3400?

You will be given access to the Basic HD channels as well.

If you are buying used and do not need HD, look for the DCT3080 as well, is the SD PVR Shaw used to have. Same features, smaller hard drive and SD only.

I had th Pace Aspen when I had SD only TV when it first came out.
