Re: New laptop battery not charging? A client recently brought me a Sony with the same behavior. He had purchased an aftermarket replacement battery off ebay, and it wouldn't charge. I found that a modified bios had to be loaded in order to use non-Sony batteries in that particular model. Most of the aftermarket sellers including a link to the modified bios, but the behavior with the stock bios was that a battery would run the laptop, but the charging circuit wouldn't engage unless the extra chip found only in the official batteries was detected.
I've never heard of Toshiba doing that, but I thought I would mention it. |
