|
 | OK I'm in Texas and I just checked. It's very similar tho ofcourse different enuf that it will take a little getting used to. The main menu selection area, where you pick what type of category you want to go thru looks shorter, simplified, but as I said it will take some time to get used to doing things differently.
It's hard to start up just like before, press the star and wait, press it again and when it starts, it quits, so you have to start again, so just press once and sit back and wait.
Time will tell, tho it's nothing negative as far as I can see. |

I too am in NYC, and the only thing that's up and running today, that wasn't there a day, a week or 3 weeks ago, is the message about a new VOD menu coming after 7/31. The VOD menu hasn't changed. |
|
 | reply to CrobertGauth Looks like the menus have now changed in my area.
I also hate how the selections continue to start in the middle and you have to scroll back to make a selection. I wonder if they did any usabilty testing before they launched this? You would think they would have improved on this but it has not happend, at least not here. :-( |

sg join:2007-07-23 Montclair, NJ | reply to CrobertGauth Haven't gotten the update yet, but I'm looking forward to it. The current menu is horrific. The new filters look great. Being unable to just browse all the "free" movies included in the premium channels at once has always been a huge problem for me. |
|
 | New vod update has launched in vho7. Quick review - the design had changed in that the category bar is smaller and all the way on the last side of the screen. If you hit browse by categories when in the guide that's about the same size as the new vod menu column except its on he left side of the screen. Preview box is now on the left above the categories. The categories have not changed - really nothing has changed except for an appearance tweak. Seems much slower too. Needs improvements. |

My VHO just received the VOD upgrade and unless Im missing something it still does not allow one to view every free premium movie available. I still can only view them on a per network basis. I hope one day they allow that option (aka show every free movie available such as hdnet movies, tcm, Fearnet, premiums, etc). |

sg join:2007-07-23 Montclair, NJ | Yeah, I just got it as well (in the last 30 minutes or so) and the new filters only work in a few sub-menus and seem pretty useless. I hope they do implement that feature someday |

Ive had my STB reboot twice now since the latest VOD upgrade which is something I had not seen before. |

 | on mine VHO 5 for VOD, its very sluggish when you hit the on Demand button on the remote takes a good 20-30 seconds which I feel is pretty long to me and its with recent new Menus almost cloggy like. |
