 | reply to hubrisnxs I think its great and all the price went down, but I didn't pay I just walked in and asked for the latest wireless n router. They gave me it :-/
I suppose if you wanted to keep it then this would be a good deal. |

nxtiak join:2008-08-06 Redlands, CA | reply to hubrisnxs Thanks for the heads up, ordered today at work and just got email that it shipped from PA, to CA, 4 days UPS. Glad I waited and didn't buy this from eBay or when it was higher from Verizon |

SteelyI rise when the sun goes downPremium join:2000-10-15 Princeton Junction, NJ kudos:1 | If I'm not mistaken, gigabit only matters if hardwired to a computer with compatible networking capability. Does any of this help with DVR/STB/VOD performance? |

said by Steely:Does any of this help with DVR/STB/VOD performance? Actiontec routers since the rev. F have been MOCA 1.1 compliant. MOCA 1.1 has a higher PHY rate which could be of some benefit if ALL your MOCA devices are 1.1. -- There are 10 kinds of people in the world; those who understand binary and those who don't.

 | reply to hubrisnxs I went ahead and ordered one!
I still might try to call Verizon and see if they will exchange my router. |

I still might try to call Verizon and see if they will exchange my router. I called a few days back about an issue with my router (Westell 9100) and they shipped me an Actiontec Rev I. Even though it was just in a generic cardboard box it appears to be brand new. |
|
 | reply to Chris 313 I just had an Actiontec router replaced (a rev A with a rev F) which had severe NAT table issues (at least that is what I inferred from net surfing). If I were to purchase a rev G myself, would Verizon have to do something on their end to have it recognized?
Thanks. |

Thanks. As long as you release your DHCP lease prior to swapping routers the rest is automatic with the new router getting its IP-btw i think verizon will only sell you a rev I which is inferior to the rev g |

Just be sure to release your DHCP lease and IMMEDIATELY power off the old router before swapping it out. »Verizon Online FiOS FAQ »How do I release my DHCP lease -- There are 10 kinds of people in the world; those who understand binary and those who don't.

 | reply to jtavarez Thanks. Would this unit be rev G or rev I:
»teleproducts.verizon.com/fios/in···yDetails |
|
 | it is a rev I which has a smaller NAT table then the rev G but should suffice for most of what the internet has to offer-as faqr as i know verizon doesnt sell the more powerful rev G |

Totally agree, that action made it the last time I ever buy a linksys. |
|
 | reply to ddecan Yeah, that is the current router that I have, the Westell 9100EM!
I am currently having 2 issues that I know of:
(1) When we are streaming movies on Netflix through the PS3, the other computers access to the internet is slowed down alot.
(2) Not sure if this is related, but we are also having guide lockups/non responsive on the HD/DVR STB. |
|
 | Okay, I called this morning, and they will send me a replacement router!
I still have the one I ordered, which will be delivered today, which I will use to bridge the two together to extended wired/wireless coverage! |
