After much gnashing of teeth, came on in Richmond, VA around 3:10 EDT. Probably purely coincidental, but I was having some issues over and above not receiving Redzone, so I had rebooted my router just before Redzone came on.

Still not on. Stuck watching the Eagles and Browns, and I feel like going outside to do yard work because that HAS to be better than this crappy game.

How I miss my beloved RedZone.

Just checked with Verizon chat and they said the problem had been fixed, to turn on/turn off your Fios Set top box - we did and it is working now... finally.

Btw did you realize today is opening day for football.

Opening Day was last Wednesday with the Cowboys and Giants game.

I figured something like this was going to happen on the first Sunday with RedZone. That's why I started dealing with them a couple of weeks ago. And I'm glad my RedZone channel got straightened out earlier this weeks.

To all you guys who got it working...

Are you able to go into the Football Widget and set team alerts? I can open the widget, but it still tells me to "subscribe" when I try to set up alerts...and it takes me to that annoying message:
""Our records indicate that you have previously subscribed to this Channel. Programming should be available shortly as soon as the order has been processed."

The Redzone channel itself is working fine. The widget, not so fine.

I talked to custome service about some type of credit and she told me that it has to be down for 24 hours for that to happen. I told her this channel is on for 6-8 hours a week....its like it was down for 4 days!!! Terrible customer service. This on top of raising the price on my boxes $2. I pay $10 more a month for crap!

Wow, I didn't check here during the games yesterday, because my Red Zone Channel was working from the start. Sorry you all had to go through that. For what it's worth, I'm not an Ultimate sub and I purchase RZC separately.

Mine started working around 4:00PM yesterday but now I'm back to it asking for me to press "OK" to subscribe.

Wonder if we'll have the same problem again next Sunday?

I turned mine on in the mid point of the 2nd quarter of the Skins-Saints game so that was probably about 2:15 or so eastern and Red Zone was working for me at that point so no idea if it was down before that.

I had clicked to activate it one day last week.

I know they got some bad publicity on Steve Czaban's morning show because their co host pointed out that he has Fios, it wasn't on, he called, got hung up on and didn't bother trying again.

Damn, I guess I got lucky. I am an Ultimate subscriber in VH08 and I started the activation process at 11:20 am on Sunday and by 11:25 it was on for me.

Fortunately, I was one who it activated for ok and worked from yesterday morning when the fantasy stuff was on till it went off Sunday evening. As of this morning when I left for work at 7:00 I had just a black screen, no splash, no music, no message. Can it really be that hard?

EDIT: VZ Direct just responded to my Redzone post from last week. I told them the Redzone channel itself is now working but not the widget alerts. I still don't know if this is a widespread issue or one that is specific to me.

I looked at the scores yesterday through the football widget and they were not being updated, showing 2nd quarter scores for a game that ended hours ago, so I believe the alerts were not working because the scores weren't being updated.
I think you are in the same VHO as me, Freehold VHO7?

No, I'm near Freehold, but because I'm in Mercer County and the Philly DMA, I'm actually part of VHO8.

When I open the Football Widget it seems not to "know" that I'm already subscribed to NFL Redzone. It wants me to press the "C" button on my remote so I can subscribe. If I press the button, I get into that same looping message I was getting prior to yesterday about being previously subscribed and that content should be available shortly. Hitting "OK" closes the message AND the widget.

Is everyone back to the "press OK for more" screen? After RedZone went off the air yesterday, I got the normal splash screen saying when their programming airs.

This morning, it's back to the "press OK for more" screen that everyone was getting that couldn't activate the program. @VerizonSupport is telling me that this is the screen everyone will get during the week and that everything will be fine on Sunday, but I'm highly suspicious considering what happened yesterday.

As an update to that, maybe that is not what Verizon thinks I should be seeing. @VerizonSupport had me fill out a form that he said he would handle. I'll report back when I know more.

the splash screen was on my tivos on saturday and on sunday i didnt have to activate anything i just turned to channel 835 and the redzone was on ,this was around 10:10 a. m.in so. cal. FYI i have the ultimate pack.

FYI....I called this morning and asked again for some type of credit. The CSR said he knew nothing of the problem (amazing). He put me on hold for a few minutes and came back and said he would credit my account $25. Said it would be 28 and change after taxes. I am still very upset but at least it is something.

Comment 1) You would think CSRs would get some type of info on major problems that had occurred before they began work.

Comment 2) Verizon screwed me over with raising the set top box fee. I now pay $52 A MONTH for my STBs. I have 3 HB boxes and 2 Digital Adapters for my old TVs. There making it very difficult to be a satisfied customer. My only other choice is Time Warner and the are terrible here in Dallas.

Just thought I would share my experience and hope it helps others.

To finish my story, @VerizonSupport figured out that there was some coding on my account that wasn't there, it was added on and now I have the normal splash screen.

What I can't figure out is how, if that's the case, I ever got RedZone at all on Sunday (albeit not until the 1:00 games were almost over).

As of this morning I was able to successfully "activate" NFL RedZone by following a new sequence of prompts and messages. I think this is the way it was supposed to work from the beginning. No more looping, unresolved message windows. And the Football Widget alerts are working properly again. All is (FINALLY) good!

Mine is also working this morning but I didn't have to do anything additional. I guess they fixed it overnight.

I now have the expected NFL Red Zone splash screen and music. The "press ok" to order screen is gone.

Just to clarify, the RedZone channels (835 and 335) were working (splash screen with music, no "press OK") this morning. I didn't have to activate the channel. What wasn't working was the Alert setup menus (Press "B") inside of the Football Widget. I had to go through an activation process from a series of screens inside the widget. A few minutes after activating, the teams I had selected last season were pre-checked for alerts.

The email Verizon sent me Aug 23 said to tune to the Redzone channel, hit the "OK" button on my remote, and follow the on-line instructions.

There is no "OK" button on Tivo remotes; and the "Select" "Tivo" "Enter" and "Thumbs up" buttons do not bring up the instructions.

What did you do? Thank you
