 | [Internet] Wireless Internet Speeds have dropped dramatically, I So I upgraded to roadrunner lightning about a week ago and it was great. I was running speeds of about 35 mbps around the house wirelessly. However, a couple of days ago my power went out and my wireless network and phone went down. Brighthouse send out a technician and he got it up and running again. The next night I came home from work and got onto my phone. My internet was painfully slow so i hopped on my laptop. I did speed tests on my iphone, ipad, and computer and was running about 2 mbps max. I called brighthouse and they reset my ubee modem/router and then sent out another technician. He came and messed with my router for a little bit and then left. My speeds went up to about 12 mbps and then dropped again. I called brighthouse and they're sending out another technician. I tried to resolve the problem myself by putting my modem/router into bridge mode and hooking up an apple airport extreme to it. It's still running 2 mbps. Any suggestions? | | BHNtechXpertBHN StaffPremium,VIP join:2006-02-16 Saint Petersburg, FL kudos:82 | Re: [Internet] Wireless Internet Speeds have dropped dramaticall said by zerofaisal33 :So I upgraded to roadrunner lightning about a week ago and it was great. (1) Don't speed test on wireless connections...use wireless ONLY where you have no alternatives (and there are several).
(2) If you have an airport extreme you likely have other Apple products. Generally speaking Apple doesn't play well with non Apple wireless devices. You are better to bridge the modem and use your extreme. -- ~All truth goes through three phases. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed.
