 | Prequalification speed lower than current speed I'm currentlly running 3008/512 (synced at 3008/512) with AT&T
Why are the prequalification speeds only 768 & 1.5? |

Remember that phone lines travel rather circuitous routes, not as the crow flies, so the estimation system isn't perfect, and it's quite possible that it's being too conservative in its estimate. If you are currently getting 3Mbps DSL service and you want to convert that over to DSL Extreme, I'd recommend calling in and placing the order directly over the phone with a representative, to see if we can manually override the prequal system. |

 | Help.
I called in, and the sales representative wasn't very helpful.
I want the 3008/512 that I'm currently running with ATT.
DSL Down Up Current Rate: 3008 kbs 512 kbs Max Rate: 3068 kbs 936 kbs Current Connection: Current Noise Margin: 10.0 dB 19.0 dB Current Attenuation: 48.7 dB 31.0 dB Current Output Power: 19.0 dBm 11.9 dBm
The sales guy says you're using a different CO than ATT is currently using and I can get only the 1500/384
This doesn't make any sense to me, Wouldn't you be using the same CO (ATT) where the POTS line terminates?
Do you have someone that can push thru the 3008
Thanks |

When that happens, we may not have access to that DSLAM, but may be able to place an order for another, nearby DSLAM. Generally, though, we usually have access to the same locations that AT&T does. I can't promise anything (I'm not in the ordering department), but send me a PM with your number and address and I'll see what I can do. |

 | I IM'd you.....
Just for fun, I prequalified the house next to mine.
It prequalifies at 3.0/512
It's fed from the same telephone pole as my house (telephone pole is on property line where 4 properties meet in the backyard).
Something fishy is going on with AT&T.....
Might be something to do with U-Verse (I don't have it) because they keep trying to get me to buy it....... |
