Fax Machine Help

New TN installed to existing jack. If I plug a phone into the jack, I get dialtone. If I plug my fax machine into it, no dialtone.

If I take the fax to another jack, it gets dialtone.

I dont understand how that is possible.

It may be reversed polarity. Try reversing the T &R on the jack side.

Exactly this.
Fax machines are sensitive to polarity, most modern telephone equipment isn't.

Hopefully you understand what westdc said. Reverse the wires in the phone jack. This will probably fix your issue. Best of luck!
