[FYI] Meteor showers

The Perseids, which periodically shower the night skies with meteors, or “falling stars,” will reach their August peak this weekend.

Thanks for the reminder! I might have to head out to the boonies for this (keep meaning too every year and then one thing or another...)

Too cloudy here, even if the city lights would have been a major problem.

I could not get any either. Security lights in complex to bright and I could not get out into country side.

Yeah, these must be very dim. I went outside this weekend the night it was supposed to peak. There was supposed to be in the ballpark of 60-90 per hour. Checked at 12AM and 1AM EST. Sat out there for a decent amount of time. I didn't see a single one. The sky was clear and I could see the stars. I guess it just wasn't dark enough here and you have to be out in the sticks. What a gyp, heh.
