Re: The unions will probably try to take over VZW

I would guess this can be rectified by providing a good HVAC system in the booth that creates a positive pressure environment.

The cost of which will be deemed unsupportable, ergo: another EZPass lane. Robots don't breathe.

Really? A box fan with a filter is too expensive?

I guess anything is possible. We have factories exploding because they create too much highly combustible dust. Something air filters would solve and yet people die and entire plants are destroyed. If OSHA cracks down, corporations will scream and threaten to move their operations off shore because there, they won't have to keep the air in the plant clean and they'll save a penny for each unit produced.

If it was a matter of simply installing a filter on a fan, no doubt they would have done this. For one thing, a filter catches "dust", not the dangerous gases that come out of a vehicles exhaust. There are ways to cleanse the air by targeting specific gases, but I imagine that to target everything that's dangerous in exhaust would be completely unfeasible.

There is a reason why every single underground parking lot exhausts 100% of the air out of the building and brings in full fresh air.

I assumed they would provide a filter capable of removing the harmful contaminants. Even if such a filter cost $1,000 and had to be replaced every month. Medical costs are socialized and it's far better to pay $38,000 to one of these workers and use the savings to pay for the filter. We'll save money on medical costs by reducing/eliminating incidents of lung cancer.

I also read an article that smokers actually save society money because many die long before consuming hundreds of thousands of Medicare and Social Security benefits. Maybe we can still pay them $50,000, add the $12,000/year filters and let them die young. That's certainly heartless and I'm certainly not suggesting we should sponsor equating life to a simple equation. As others have suggested, it's best to completely get rid of the human element.
