Can you reactivate cablecard on new device or have to swap?

Just as title says. Say I have a currently installed and activated cable card...and want to replace that device with a different one. Can I simply pair/reactivate my existing cablecard on the website or phone, or do they treat them like minor changes with their boxes where you have to swap for a new one with any little change.

The card is activated already. You might have to pair it to your new device, but it's not essential unless you have a premium channel.

I know it will have to be repaired to the new device...especially now past the Jul 31st deadline when they started playing by the rules.....question is is there a way to easily do it with the existing card rather then do an otherwise pointless equipment swap with verizon.

Just use the automated pairing on the telephone. I paired three cards in under five minutes. Much faster than dealing with a CSR.

I would agree with above. I recently had to re-pair my two cards using the Automated Pairing and was quite impress. Although they say it will take up to 30 min at the end, both were competed in about 5 min.

Much better than having to chat with a CSR and get bounced around to several technical area only to find out they wish to dispatch a tech. (Oh that was Comcast.)
