Boulder, CO I'm on Blast - was having trouble with internet d/l speeds dropping below 10Mbps, and then CS rep explained to me that I was still on a DOCSIS 2.0 modem (doh!) Got my new 3.0 compatible Arris gateway, and now I'm consistently getting the new speeds:

Bellevue, WA For all you Grandfathered 'Ultra' tier folks -
I was on Ultra. Finally called Customer Service yesterday and the rep confirmed the new 50 Mbps Blast service is available in my area (Bellevue, Wa). So for a few dollars less I went from 30 Mbps to 50 Mbps. Sweet! Looks like Comcast is not touching the grandfathered 'Ultra' tier or notifying you about the change (other then commercials in my area). Also, my experience was great. Rep knew his stuff and the change took all of 1 minute!

Re: Littleton, CO OMG! I was on the phone over an hour getting tossed back and forth between departments yesterday too. They told me the exact same crap! This is bull! Comcast needs to get this figured out. I have the HD Preferred Plus XF bundle. I have had it since January and always have gotten 36/6.

| reply to swilliams Finally got a hold of an Escalation Rep and they found that first of all my modem was not provisioned, thus no software update and because of the "changes" there are issues with my service requiring a service call tomorrow. As far as the tier, I was told I had the "Preferred" tier that will be at 25/4. I've had up to 35/6. But the photograph of the "confidential" pricing schedule on the master thread shows Preferred at 50/10. So . . . we'll see what I end up with after the tech is done? |

Re: Colorado Springs, CO Colorado Springs, CO
Just went to the Comcast store and upgraded my leased modem to DOCSIS 3 to get the performance boost.
xfinity speed test says 22Mbps down, 4.5Mbps up.
speedtest.net says 13Mbps down, 4.5Mbps up.
I know I've gotten better than 13 down even before the boost on some big downloads, so there must be some choke point from Comcast and speedtest.net. The 4.5 up sure is nice, though. |
