Fort Lauderdale, FL 105/20 Extreme 105 test |
I am a residential customer and I have Extreme 105 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I've had it since Feb 2011 when I upgraded from my Extreme 50 service. I was upgraded to 105/20 about 4 months ago and my speeds have consistently been as shown.
About 2 month ago I had my eMTA swapped to a SMC SMCD3GNV which is an eMTA and 4-port gigabit router with built in 2.4GHz wireless -an all in one box. This swap was handled as a self install (no truck roll to the house) because I went from one eMTA to the SMC eMTA but I was required to authenticated my 911 service telephone number with a special department at Comcast.
I sent by my previous Comcast supplied Arris TM722G eMTA back to Comcast and retired the NetGear WMDR3700 Dual Band router I was using. My home network is pretty simple and I haven't been troubled with the SMC wireless being only 2.4G (not dual band) and also having limited range.
In my setup I use only 1 of the 4 SMC ethernet connections and I connect to a NetGear GS116 (16 port) Gigabit switch. Off the switch are many ethernet connected computers and printers along with 2 ethernet connected wireless AP's.
I was using two Netgear WNDAP350 simultaneous dual band AP's but just switched to two new AMPED Wireless simultaneous dual band 20000G AP's. Very nice AP's and extremely easy to set up and manage-truly approaches plug-n-play on your network. Much quicker speeds than the WNDAP350's. »www.ampedwireless.com/products/ap20000g.html

Re: Post here for Blast upgrade 50/10 or Extreme upgrade 105/20 In my area, Extreme 105 is $79/month if you have a cable package. In my case, this was at my parents house near New Kensington, Pa. where I had done some computer upgrades and in the process upgraded their internet package and modem (swapped out a SB5101 and replaced with SBG6580). |

rugbyI think I know it all.VIP join:2000-09-26 Plainfield, IN 1 edit | It's called the Extreme 50 tier and is 50/15. They have an Extreme 105 tier as well which is 105/20. This is new construction in Plainfield, south of 40 on Moon Rd. |

Re: Post here: Blast 50/10 or 50/15 or Extreme 105/20 upgrades Supposedly Groton, CT got the speed upgrades today, as I got an email about 20/4, which I assume would translate to 50/10 for Blast!, although right now, my Blast! is getting 0.54mbps down, not 50. Presumably they are in the middle of some work. I hope. |

From previous experiences with the upgrade, I was told to expect jitter connection wise for a bit while they work on getting it completely stable. |

I just got off the phone with Comcast, and was speaking with their retentions dept. The lady I was speaking with apparently had a list of when the new speed upgrades were taking place. She verified that middle Tennessee(I'm near Nashville) would see the increase in April. She also noted she was in Florida and they were working on the increase right now.
Just an FYI. |

Yeah, I got 40mbps this morning, so we're definitely liveish, we're just not rock solid at 50/10 yet. I'm getting about 20/4, i.e. the lower package right now, hopefully it will come up to speed soon as they tweak whatever they need to tweak, or add more capacity if that's needed. |

After getting IPv6 about two weeks ago [with no email, just had a lot of connection issues on morning, then discovered I had an IPv6 address], got an email today from Comcast saying I had the higher speeds - quick modem reset and they they were.
I'm on Blast.

I had 36 up/6 down speedtest results before (that's with Speedboost of course).
I still have an IPv6 address, don't know why the result says IPv4.
Here's the shaper result:
