1.544mbps can do Netflix, gaming, traditional web browsing, voip, etc. with a far lower latency than Hughes with unlimited usage. I'd argue that is a much more enjoyable experience than anything Hughes can offer. Only problem is the cost. If you are willing to pay the costs, why not?

Not when you're connecting it to a T1 or a Fiber connection. They didn't have to use the highest powered router, though. A Cisco 800-series would've been just perfect.

But.. Let's get back on topic..

The Modem is supplied with T1 and Fiber connections in West Virginia. All they needed was to have a Hub to connect to. 5 PC's max.Therefore the Cheap $100 router would work.
