Start by doing a hard reset on the modem, it could be in bridge mode and if that is the case you will not be able to access its GUI.
Every manufacture specifies different procedures however they are all variations of holding in the modems reset button for some time followed by unplugging the power to it.

With the modem reset, remove the router, take an ethernet cable and run it from your computer into the modem. If all goes according to plan the computer will get an IP lease from the modem and you can login to it and configure your settings according to your ISP.
