I currently have the "Performance" plan that is 12/2 and I use my own SB5100 modem that has been rock-solid reliable for many years now. If (and I say if because Comcast really has no competition in Atlanta) they upgrade the "Performance" tier to 25/5, will I have to buy a new DOCSIS3 modem? I refuse to rent a modem, I like having my own. -- Teabaggers: Destroying America is Priority #1 |

My old Linksys has been a good box. -- Comcast HSI | Linksys BEFCMU10 modem | ASUS RT-N16 router on Tomato 1.28 (Shibby) |

It has 8x4 channel capability, as well as gigabit ethernet and IPV6, so it should be future-proof (for now). -- Teabaggers: Destroying America is Priority #1 |

Re: New modem required? Other than the UBEE, there are no really *bad* D3 cable modems (I've been leasing my ARRIS WBM-760A - which has been running all-green since the beginning of summer - and I've had nary a problem with it).
Speaking of UBEE, have they gotten their cable modem act together yet? |
