Mediacom → [GA] Switching from AT&T DSL to Mediacom

I was wondering if anyone has experience with MediaCom Internet in Albany GA. I had them ages ago, and it was always a nightmare. I switched to AT&T and it has been rock solid, but they only offer 6mbps.
I use DTV for my televsion so, I will only be getting Internet service. I was quoted $39.95 no contract price on 15/1. Currently paying $29.95 for dsl.

Has Mediacom impoved there reliability? Is faster speeds worth risking a slower, but rock solid connection.

Today might be the wrong day to ask that. There seems to be an outage roaming around the country today.

Normally my connection is pretty solid.

just remember that price is for a year then it goes up
