Re: beIn Sport 1 & 2 (new soccer channels) FIFA have made their bed with Qatar, spurning the USA in the process. How can they honestly expect US fans to support them in another money grab? |

Re: beIn Sport 1 & 2 (new soccer channels) Frankly the way they're playing, I'm glad I can't watch the US team on the road. Yikes.
PS: Just a clarification, but the channel is beIN Sport USA here, and there is only one, not two. Spanish is available via SAP on the dishes. |

Re: beIn Sport 1 & 2 (new soccer channels) There is two channel ONE is spanish ONE in english, there programing is not the same, see there page.. |

Comcast I don't think has it in HD either, at least not in northern NJ. At this moment, beIN's distribution has been a big dumb loss for the European leagues. |

While DishNetwork only has the beIN1 (only in SD), DirecTV has both beIN1 (SD and HD) and beIN-ñ (SD only)..
Comcast has added only beIN-ñ (SD only)..
While beIN1 is aimed at the English audience and beIN-ñ to the Hispanic audience, I believe both have SAP so English and Spanish commentary is available on both. |

I really, really hope beIN wins.

What possible value could this bring to the viewer? If BeIn has Serie A, La Liga, etc. already, how many live games can they show on their one and only English language channel? A channel which presently is only SD for the vast majority of people who have any access to it at all.
In a perfect world the leagues would each be on different networks and the consumer would have as many options as possible. Competition is good for the consumer, a monopoly is not.
Unless you're a Qatari prince and have a financial stake in this I can't imagine why a soccer fan would be pulling for BeIn to add the EPL to its stable of toys. |
|
 | reply to jodhak I think ESPN are going for the EPL big time. EPL would be completely INSANE to take the $ over ESPN's distribution. |

And beIN production & HD picture quality is far superior to Fox. |

 | reply to Keano said by Keano:Because I have Directv. And beIN production & HD picture quality is far superior to Fox. Then why are you on this board? Much of this thread smells like BeIn marketing.
Having the sole provider that carries them in HD still doesn't change the fact that they can't possibly show 4 lives games at once on a single channel.
WRT to production I've heard they have three announcers in the booth and they talk too much. |

 | reply to Keano If BeIn gets the EPL I will be very upset. I am pissed off that they have hijacked the away USA games. |
