| The Motorola DCH100 is a newer (2007) model and the only other model listed as a Standard Def All Digital Receiver. This model has a CableCARD rather than integrated conditional access, (CableCARDs were mandated in 2007 for all receivers).

Your DCT2500 is circa 2003.
But, you can ask for any model receiver you want without subscribing to HD service, Cox should allow this. I doubt Cox will invest in any newer Standard Def only receivers.

Fort Smith, AR | Well, the reason I wanted to know is that the current box stopped responding to channel changes from my Series 2 Tivo through the serial cable. The cable connects to the Tivo with a mini-headphone style jack and the other end is a db9 like you would find on a computer with a serial port.
Looking at the user guides for the above boxes, they don't have the db9 but have the mini-headphone style jack. I'm not sure if you can use that with the Tivo for channel changes. |
