Image issue - thumbnails OK, main image missing

This has happened before and it's not consistent across all image posts.

Example: »Day at Stone Mountain Georgia
Looks fine, but ...

If I click on the slideshow, the images are broken.

If I click on the link to the uploaded image, I get the following error.

For grins, I tried Firefox, not logged in to the site. Same symptom.

I got the same broken image result with the first one, but the rest seem ok.

Indeed. And if you go back to the first image and click in the constrained link, it works too. Maybe something got corrupted in the conversion?

Tried Opera. Still broken. Got this message if I click on the link to the original upload:

You must be logged into dslreports.com in order to download forum attachments bigger than 2 megabytes in size.

Downloading using parallel requests (download accelerators) are detected and disabled.

Logged in and got the same error. Still broken with Chrome and FF as well.

Any thoughts on what I can do to troubleshoot this?

edit: And got this when I tried to post:

Maybe this is just not my day.

They all work fine for me. Is this happening with any other thread or just that one?

Yes, the problem exists in other threads, but not all.

Since I first posted, I tried changing DNS servers from Google to Cox, tried two other browsers (Opera and Firefox), cleared cache and cookies.

Please let me know if I can test anything else from my end.

Broken
FF @ work, getting no results as well.
Noscript here, allowing dslreports.com & dslr.net.
I have tried allowing all remaining scripts (google stuff), no effect, same broken slideshow.
*Edit, @ home on 'nix and opera, slideshow loads fine.

In IE7 I get the same results -- first is broken, second one works.

In FF 3.6.28, both work.

Tried it logged in and out. Tried Chrome, Firefox, Epiphany, Seamonkey, Konqueror and Opera. Broken the same way on all.

Thanks for checking. I think it's not a browser issue. Each browser handles the breakage a bit differently but for any thread where some or all of the image links don't work, they are always broken for me.

Because it doesn't affect everyone, I thought it might be DNS related but changing that didn't help.

That seems to suggest something on that particular computer. Firewall, perhaps?

If only it were that easy. Tried it on multiple computers, multiple O/S. Same symptoms. As noted above, others are also seeing the problem.

edit: Tried Safari on a Mac. No difference. Same images in the same threads (many more than the examples here) are broken.
