Hopefully all goes smooth.
Wife is not happy about the price

No phone (I have cells and VOIPo phone)
~ $148 plus I expect taxes
Install free

This house has never had WOW before

That's the same plan I'm on, works out to $152 and change. It's a good price considering what other providers charge for DVRs, higher tier internet, and an expanded channel lineup including Starz/Encore.

Re: New install

Thanks - I'm looking forward to getting all settled. Having two DVRs with Comcast in Canton that will be going back soon, there are a whole list of programs to get setup - we like our recorded shows and watch very little live TV. DVRs really spoil us!

We should be fully moved by Friday

I guess I need to call and complain about the 1st bill.
The $50 install fee was waved as promised by the sales rep when I ordered.

Still, for my Ultra with three set-tops, I was charged $20 x 2 for connections.
The two upstairs used the existing cabling.
The one downstairs he ran a cable through the drop ceiling and down to the unit.
And one to the media device a few feet in a the unfinished part of the basement.
No wall plugs were installed, and no mention of extra charges.

You would think they would want a house always using the competition to be part of WOW.

Except for running a fresh cable along the AT&T, and Bright House cables, it seemed a simple enough install.
I feel these extra charges are unwarranted.

Other that these charges, I am fairly happy.

Re: New install

Good news, they voided the two questionable charges
My past experience is that WOW treats their customers very well.

Re: New install

I was also told free installation and after receiving the first bill, saw the same two charges you mentioned above. I called my local rep and he instructed me to not pay them and he would make sure they're taken care of. Haven't heard anything since!

Re: Annoyed and happy within one phone call

I still did not see the extra charges drop off, but I wanted to get my bill paid.

Calling got me a pleasant person who confirmed the reversal of the $40 extra, so annoyed turned to OK. Bill paid.

Then I asked about dropping my speed from 30Mbps to 15Mbps, and was happy to hear the montly bill will drop by $20. I was even more pleased when she said she could add a 12 month promotional that will drop the price another $10!

So before taxes $148 became $118.
$148 with taxes was not much higher ($155.39)
So now I'm still faster Internet than my last negotiation with Comcast(3Mbps). I have a whole house DVR system with 3 converters versus 2 DVRs with Comcast, and more channel coverage.

We have 60 series programs in our queue. (Some have ended for a bit but I am loving the WOW way )
Its great to have 10 episodes or so of Bubble Guppies, and Mickey Mouse Club, and others for the grand babies to enjoy any time too!

The WD - My Book AV 1TB USB 2.0 and eSATA DVR Expander should be here Monday to triple my storage area. I feels great to be in the modern WideOpenWest service area!

I updated my review too

Got my DVR Expander - 1TB and went from 68%full to 21% full and was a snap to connect it up.

Interesting how BestBuy was the same as Amazon, and cheaper than NewEgg and J&R or Buy.com - I usually expect BestBuy to be expensive!
