| [HD] Having problems viewing FSC HD 584 I've been having difficulties viewing this channel properly for a while now. Sometimes the channel is very pixelated and at other times I just get the "this channel is currently unavailable" screen. The battery backup was replaced by a technician and the channel was fine for a day. But now I'm having the same problem. Last night I pulled the coaxial cable from the back of the dvr and reinstalled it and the channel came back instantly. About 24 hours later, I see pixelation again and most likely the channel will go out. So, does the coaxial cable need to be replaced or the end restripped???? This is only happening for FSC HD 584...very frustrating! |

When watching FSC HD, power off the STB then hit OK on your remote. This will bring up the diagnostic menu. (Make sure the DVR is not recording anything).
Choose Option 4 (or whichever one is "In-Band Status"). This will show you the signal levels for the channel.
When I had FIOS, FSC HD was on a very low frequency (69MHz), which was more prone to interference, which is what you could be seeing.

No. Call in and have a tech come out to repair it. You have either a bad section of coax or splitter. I cant imagine why a tech would replace a BBU on a video repair.

How does channel 622 look? I noticed Science HD FSC HD and Fuse HD were messing up on me all the time. I actually took the coax cable near the ONT and used a staple gun to hold the wire which was just on the floor to the wall. Now those channels work perfectly fine. Don't ask me why but I was able to solve it myself!!
