The sign up said this game had some kind of a twist, IIRC. I figure the newspaper has some kind of purpose, or else he wouldn't have messaged us. My question is, did everyone get the message, or just town? So, in the grand tradition of game breaking, I give you one word from the message.

I can't imagine Modem would have left a loophole that large, but it was worth a shot. Regardless, my take on the PM is that we can send information we have to the mod as opposed to saying it here in public. Like maybe a cop investigation result or something. Then the mod gives that info to an Investigative Reporter, who can publish the info for all of us to see. The person giving the info is anonymous. So we know now that there is an investigative reporter role out there somewhere. I would guess it's either Town or Independent. Can't imagine it being Maifa.
Now that I type that, I bet dollars to donuts he did send the PM to the mob as well. They can supply DISinformation. At least that's how I would do it if I were modding the game.

Yeah. For some reason, people didn't check the player list. It was funny and sad all at the same time.
Peanut gallery games allowed for non player participation. In other games it has always been mildly frowned upon, but no one ever truly abused it. One or two posts, and the mod or players usually step in and say "get out".
