Some other things I've noticed:

When the box is powered off there is not time display on it at all.

When you are recording there is also no Red light on the box indicating that you are recording.

No input button on the remote to change inputs on the TV.

Also no Power button for the box itself, only all on/off and TV power.

According to this front panel view that was shown for the Pace X1 box »Re: Xfinity TV on the X1 Platform and X1 Remote Control App! , it does show a "Record Light." Are you saying that it's just not functioning or that it is missing from the X1 box you were provided?

The indicator for record is on the box, but never comes on.

Interesting. I wonder if that's just a problem with your particular box, or that Comcast has disabled that indicator for some reason?
