As far as future enforcement plans: no data |
|
 | i didn't read the TOS in fact i never do, so it's not being enforced right since when. |

Trust me. If they actually start enforcing it, The internet will explode with people bitching so you'll hear about it. |

| reply to demonghost I didn't say it will never be enforced. Per the TOS AT&T reserves the right to enforce the cap on residential accounts
But as I stated, as far as I know to this point, the cap has not been enforced on U-Verse accounts. I have heard rumors on non U-Verse ADSL accounts of the cap being enforced, but I have not heard anything on U-Verse accounts. But that could change tomorrow
If it becomes a major issue, there is the option to upgrade to an uncapped business class account, or consider options from other providers |

 | reply to demonghost Caps are not being enforced, but if you have a VDSL-based gateway (2Wire 3600, 3800, 3801, or iNID/3812), there is a way for you to track your own usage.
UV Realtime (www.uvrealtime.com) has a built-in usage meter that can do it. Read the documentation thoroughly, your network must be set up exactly according to the documentation for it to work right. |

 | reply to demonghost As a tech i have never heard of anyone bineg charged with the cap overages, as well as we do not send out those extortion letters for downloading shared stuff. They turn a blind eye to all that it cost money to enforce anything. |

 | reply to demonghost no way to track would have get 3rd party program do that but even then thats only per comp.. Might be able to find router that tracks it then plug that into gateway and use it instead of ours for wireless and wired connections. but then we cant help troubleshoot that router will just say in end use ours it works |

 | reply to demonghost Perhaps you would be interested in their new home Lte service with 2 gig cap and $15 dollars for every gig over. That is the real future for Att |

ohh join:2011-07-16 San Jose, CA | reply to demonghost I've never got an overage (I would know if I did). If they do try to charge you more or slow your speed, threaten to dump them.
They can fuck off if they want to dictate every little thing (let them go out of business).
My sarcastic take on it: OH NOES THE BANDWIDTH-OIL FIELDS ARE ALMOST EMPTY TIME TO CHARGE MORE! |

 | reply to demonghost My regular DSL did have the 150GB cap and they did charge me for the overage on the few times I did exceed 150. Never did it enough to get a letter or anything. It just cost me 10 or so extra bucks twice.
After switching to Uverse, they haven't said a word and the website where you can track usage no longer works for me. Shrug. |
