 | reply to Dude111 I notice a trend here! Perhaps your medication is responsible for your ever increasing dis-satisfaction with the taste of food. As for myself, I wouldn't dine at the fast-food trough if you paid me. | reply to Dude111 Out here we call it Taco Hell. It is nasty food (at least in these parts) and they really never have a whole lot of business when you drive by any given time.
I prefer to make my own tacos at home. Man they are good -- Long you live and high you fly, and smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry, and all you touch and all you see, is all your life will ever be. |

| reply to Dude111 Was it orange? Taco Hell introduced a new taco "Supposedly" based on Doritos Nacho Cheese chips. Crap doesn't even taste like the aforementioned Doritos, and the shells are like soggy cardboard. Yuck! -- Explore Xubuntu. Like It? Install It. [Love It]! |

Re: Taco Bell Similar to the "Beefy crunch burrito" they had/have. Thought it was going to have a taco-shell incorporated somehow similar to the gordita crunch, it just had some spicy fritos in it, and they tasted odd and ended up being really soggy. |

That did suck, but the cheesy nacho burrito is pretty good. Something in there has some crunch to it. -- Concentrated power has always been the enemy of liberty - Ronald Reagan |

I make better tacos at home. I use there ingredients:
Goya Adobo seasoning con pimienta Goya "Sazon Goya" Con Culantro y Achiote Korniko Chipotle seasoning Badia Sazon Tropical mexican oregano comino molido (ground cumin)
(since there are several of the above, I go very easy on them, it's the touch of flavor, not the blast.)
Ground Sirloin fried and drained and processed in food processor to fine grain Ground Pork, done just like above a sweet spanish onion a poblano chili or a can of green chilis a small green bell pepper an 8 oz can of plain tomato sauce a can of refried beans water no added salt home made hot sauce with peppers from my own garden
I prefer soft corn tortillas or large flour tortillas
filling: very firm tomatoes sweet onions mild cheese (I can't eat cheese, but for others) iceburg lettuce pace picante or my own home made picante
mine has no pink slime since I buy the better ground meat, sirloin has flavor. Mine has pork. Mine has the best seasonings -- Join Teams Helix and Discovery. Dude111An Awesome DudePremium join:2003-08-04 USA kudos:11 | I am hungry also my friend!!
I guess what i was trying to say in my thread here is: The shells are not as crunchy as they used to be.... (You used to bite into it and it fell apart as you ate it,now they are kinda like a bit soggy, etc .. You bite into it and it takes a little bit more pressure to break it..... I dunno
I remember the first time i got one of those kind... I hated it,i thought maybe it was just a bad batch of shells (Not fresh) but they seem to chnged how they make them FOR THE WORSE..
And the BEEF thjey use tastes like shit now also.. IT USED TO BE DELICIOUS!!
Im sorry if anyone is offended by my using caps,im trying to have what im saying stand out (Be more noticable) I am not yelling @ anyone!! |

 | It could also be that the formula for shells was changed to comply with FDA regs. Some are premade and sit under lights to keep warm.
I bought taco shells for the Cockatiels we had. They loved taco chips, but the actual chips had salt. The shells didn't. The shells stayed crisp in the fridge for months. The chips get soggy if they sit with some kind of filling in them. I've had home made tacos get soggy if they sat in the fridge. |
