[Equipment] Turnkey solution for small area Wi-Fi?Hello, What is the best solution (preferably turn-key) to deliver wi-fi over small area, such as big hypermarket, is this scenario possible: One access point antenna - all the shops pointing access devices to it? Yes, I am new to this. |

Take a look at UniFi Outdoor: » dl.ubnt.com/datasheets/u ··· heet.pdfAnd perhaps the Loco device for the client devices: » dl.ubnt.com/datasheets/n ··· _web.pdf |

Thanks,
Ubiquity right? yeah I was thinking the same. I wonder why there is no some rapid deployment systems, so nobody will have to mess around with router configs, just plug-and-play.

Ubiquity right? Actually it's Ubiquiti and uniFi has no router component to mess with. It does what it does with VLANs if'n you want to segregate SSIDs and have captive portal. Plug-and-pray is a drunkard's dream. If the WISP business was easy, everyone would be doing it. |

For a basic installation like you describe, it's actually pretty easy to set this stuff up. |

Here is some other hardware that would work... » www.antennas.com/freestation/» www.antennas.com/wp-cont ··· heet.pdfThose devices would be fed from this AP... » www.antennas.com/flexap-intro/which is fed from your service providers modem/router. Again, the setup is relatively easy to accomplish. . |

Would the Unifi's captive portal get along with things like Xbox 360s? If not, are there any suggestions to get around that with a paid public wifi setup? What if we were to install an indoor Unifi AP in their house to catch the signal from the outdoor one? Could we set it up as their own personal network, where they would not have to mess with a captive portal? That way we could have control over the customer AP without using a portal, and we could just take care of the billing ourselves. |
