[IA] Mediacom Personal Web Pages

I found an old thread regarding Mediacom PWP but it won't let me post there due to the age.

Seems others share my experience. I can't FTP to upload.mchsi.com any more. I haven't changed anything in my FTP application. The websites are still there but I can't update them.

Is there any update on this issue or do I just need to move my web pages elsewhere?
Thanks

I'm still able to upload, just had to change from the easy as pie Micro$oft Front Page publishing method to creating and saving the site with Front Page, then publishing it with the free Filezilla... which is kind of a pita.

I haven't put new material on my web page for some time now, but did so after their transition. As an old unix/Linux user, I've always used plain vanilla ftp to upload my files one at a time. The pieces I recall after the transition is that you need to give a fully qualified username (username plus @ mchsi.com or mediacombb.net, depending on the age of your account), and that you need to remember to put the files under the "public" folder and no longer right there on the root. I can't remember if I needed to specify type binary or not.

I'm using vanilla FTP (WS_FTP) and I'm also using the complete username including the mchsi.com. It seems to connect but never displays anything in the "remote" window...??? I'm asware of where files should go, ie public folder, but I can't see it...

I've always hand coded my pages so Frontpage has never been an issue. I still don't see why WS_FTP shouldn't connect...

Ok, I downloaded filezilla and it seems to work. Thanks for the tip!
