[Rant] Yet another Canada Post rant

2012/08/22 13:31 HAMILTON Item being prepared for transfer to Post Office.
06:56 HAMILTON Item out for delivery
05:24 HAMILTON Item processed at local delivery facility

Where the hell is my package? Did you even try delivering it to me? You didn't leave me one of those notices. This isn't the first time you've done this to me. Screw you Canada Post.

Last time I had this issue I was told that the cards were filled out and delivered the next day by the postal carrier. This is not true all of the time as I've had the cards in the mailbox the same day. My personal opinion is that next day cards are from overpaid posties who don't even bother to deliver.

However, when I do no signature required stuff, I have no issues. The guy who does our packages delivery rings the bell, places it on a seat by the front door, and goes back to the truck. If it's the same person as signed stuff I'd be surprised as I never seem to get signed deliveries. I seem to always have to pick them up.

What gets me even more is I paid a visit to my post office. They don't have my package yet (surprise, surprise). When I asked them when they would be getting the package, they said after 5:30pm (which is when the post office closes. Again, surprise surprise). Then they told me I'd be able to pick it up after 1:30pm tomorrow.

WTF? You mean I have to wait another entire day to get my package? Does expedited not mean anything? My last parcel was priority and it arrived two days late.

Another WTF...

2012/08/22 17:08 HAMILTON Item available for pickup at Post Office (my post office)
16:52 HAMILTON Item transferred to Post Office; being prepared for pickup.

13:31 HAMILTON Item being prepared for transfer to Post Office.
12:00 HAMILTON Attempted delivery. Notice card left indicating where item can be picked up.
06:56 HAMILTON Item out for delivery
05:24 HAMILTON Item processed at local delivery facility

I was home at noon. They did not attempt delivery whatsoever. I still can't find the delivery notice. As such, I've lodged a formal complaint with Canada Post.

I've done that before. Never helped for me, but made me feel better.
