| [MoP] Quick question about (elemental shaman) core skills When 5.0.4 hits and I make a new elemental shaman, do I get all of my core skills at level 1? Specifically, can I cast Lava Burst?
Looking at mikepreaches' video, for warriors I see the skills have levels attached, but I didnt see any more shammies.

Orange, CA | No, you get skills as you go along. The Talent Calculators have them listed by level (along with the class talent tiers).
Shamans start with Bolt only. Burst isn't until 34 (which might be the same as today). It's a spec spell now, so you won't have it unless you're actually Ele.
I didn't watch the Preach vid, but warriors get pretty bupkiss at level 1 too. Just Heroic Strike, really.

| OK thanks. Too bad, I would love to level a new panda ele shammy with lava burst at level 1, haha ^_^ Once you get it levelling becomes so much easier, especially now you can glyph for it to not require a FS to crit. |

Aurora, CO | So in MoP if lava burst is glyphed do you start a fight with it then go to flame shock and bolts? Started a shammy over the weekend and going ele/resto so I can keep the same gear for both while leveling. Got to 35 since friday, but I have full BoA's and guild XP bonus. I pretty much 2 shot every quest mob at lvl with a lightning bolt followed with lava burst. Before it took 2 bolts and an earth shock to finish.

| Just read from some post that they removed the glyph that allowed lava burst to crit without flameshock (can't verify at work, saw it on some recent post in goggle cache). Even if that glyph still existed, I believe it made lava burst do 5% less damage, and you want FS up to proc the LB cooldown/instant cast.
In PvE (raid/dungeon) single target you want to follow the standard rotation of FS/LB/lightning bolts. If you chose elemental bolt as your level 85? talent then you put that after LB before lightning bolts.
In AOE you can earthquake, then dark jedi chain lightning love fest. Usually I skip earthquake unless I can pre-time it, maybe like spiderlings in FL spider queen boss.
PS: From what I read from Binkenstein's last post, seems like of the top end talent, Elemental Bolt is best if you can stand and pew pew, the one that gives you permanent fire elemental is best for movement, and the unleashed elements/lightning bolt one is not as good as the other two.
Edit: Not sure what the latest math is, but for the 45? talent I am going to go with the one that can proc an instant 2nd spell. I think/hope that works with our mastery, so I want to see some LBs back to back!! pew pew!! |

keep FS up is how i was doing it in beta, with mastery and echo of the elements, LB is monster, i hit a 6 in a row run alot, it keeps proccing, it was awesome.
