XBL/PSN connection problems (Modem?) PLEASE HELP

Hey guys, I have been having some severe issues with my xbox live and psn accounts. The ping is terrible especially in the larger scale games like battlefield and the non-dedicated server games like call of duty. It is happening to all games, but mainly those. You see, before I went on a 2 week vacation out of state, my internet was something to brag about. All my computers and my PS3/XBOX could be connected at the same time and have NO issues. 99% lag free. When we came back, it turned into literally some of the worst internet I have EVER seen. I don't know if it's my modem or if there is something else. Notes: There is a lot of construction going on in the neighborhood, and lag mostly happens when someone else is on the computer. Usually the Ping bar for my modem is at about 3 bars up.
The Modem is a Westell 7500. PLEASE HELP! It really is a custom issue and I haven't read any other forums that have helped me.

TL;DR- Please just read it. I can't describe it in short.

I'd call your provider first. See what they say. Have them come out.

Yeah, I was thinking about doing that, but I wanted to see if this was more easily solved first, before going to call them. Y'know, like if someone ever had a similar problem. It could just be a bad modem.

Having done DSL support in the past, I can tell that there's absolutely no way for us on the forums to know what to do for you. We have no idea what the readings on the line are - your service provider will. There could be any of a dozen different things wrong, and for most of them only your service provider would be able to fix it.

The only thing I can suggest is double checking to make sure there's a line filter on every phone plugged into the phone line. If the DSL modem is plugged into one as well, make sure it's not plugged in on the phone side. It is possible for one of those to develop a fault as well. This is also probably the first thing they'll tell you to do when you call them anyways.
