This happens to me every morning. It just freezes. I could press the guide button, menu button, or change the channel. First button push of the day makes it freeze for a couple minutes. It's obnoxious!!

Not sure why Verizon moved it up, but VHO 11 (Pittsburgh) received the update Thursday morning, Nov. 29th at 2:15 AM. The release number stays the same (1.9.1) but the build number (14.47) and data object version number (34.47) are different. So far, it appears it has fixed the channel changing issue.

The schedule is not in stone and they are trying to get as many done before Christmas as possible.

I'm in VHO 6 and my build number is 14.47 and data object 34.47. Does this mean that I have already received the fix?

What is the build number for folks that have not yet received the fix?

VHO 1, 2, 3, 3A, 11 have the Firmware upgrade. I don't believe it indicates the new Firmware version (it might), I'm not 100% sure.

My guess is the data object is the Firmware so that might be higher than 34.47.

IMG 1.9.1 Build 14.47 is the Software.

The same as yours. Since I've had this setup for awhile and the box still freezes what you got is not the fix.

I don't know offhand what VHO I'm on but I haven't noticed the problem lately. Hadn't mentioned it until now because I didn't want to jinx myself!

Yes, VHO5 is in North Jamaica Queens, NYC....

The other VHO's are referenced the same way. VHO4 is in Silver Spring, MD.

And VHO1 is way more than just Carrollton. You're not alone.

In your Set top box menu click system information. Up will come your VHO number among other things. The number is actually 4 digits but people only use the two least significant digits when stating the number.

Happened to me this morning, exactly how you explained it. Only reason I checked was every one of the stbs was on channel 36 when I woke up. Much smoother changing channels now

I can confirm that only the PLATFORM VERSION changed in this update. With this FIRMWARE UPDATE, the new Platform Version is 25.39 dated October 22, 2012 (this information is accessed via the "hidden" diagnostic menu) while everything else stays the same. Release Number remains 1.9.1; the Data Object Number stays at 34.47; and the Build Number is still 14.47

Excellent work. So all 3 numbers visible in the IMG must relate to the IMG Software while the Firmware is in the Motorola menu on the box itself.

Makes sense.

how do you access the hidden diagnostic menu?

To enter the diagnostics menu: With your STB powered On, hit "Power, OK, OK" QUICKLY in sequence from the front panel or remote. To exit the menu, hit "Power" to turn off the STB. The next power up will be back to normal.

Once you're in the Diagnostic Menu you have to choose option 'D08' to see the platform version.

I'm in NJ and I still have v25.38 from Apr 07 2012.

I thought it was getting better but it still takes a long time to change the channel.

Sometime while I was gone the last few days my STB was upgraded to the new firmware release. I am in VH04.

There was no indication the update had occurred. I only checked because the stalling stopped at both initial turn on and normal operation.

I hope posting this doesn't cause the box to revert to it's former operation or to exhibit another bug hiding somewhere.

Recent recent software releases have tended to be a case of trading a headache for an upset stomach. Hopefully the firmware doesn't suffer the same problem.

I didn't dig into my menu but I assume I got the fix, since I haven't had any issues with changing the channels the last couple days...Thank God.
