That would be a quick check on the MODEM to see if you were getting any lag/errors on it.

Not 100% accurate for a MODEM test, but it is most likely OK.

Do the NID thing as BlueMist See Profile suggested. that will tell a lot.

Also look at your line stats and speed in the MODEM
