 | I thought Bell had 2 uplinks, with Winnipeg as the primary. There was no weather happening near Winnipeg when the outage was on.
Does Bell still claim 99.99% uptime? (They did claim that was based on their uplink, not reception) |

 | Am I the only one who finds it amusing that Bell Canada, of all companies, has customer service telephone numbers that cannot handle excessive volume of callers? Apparently people were reporting fast busy signals when this satellite outage occurred -- I would have thought 'SKYDISH' would use something like a choke exchange and just put everyone into an ever-expanding queue instead of choking on itself, so to speak.
But I digress... AFAIK, Bell's satellite uplink is consolidated at 115 Scarsdale Road in North York; Telesat's site at 133438 Allan Park (east of Hanover, just north of Grey Road 4) is not a Bell uplink but more of a monitoring site for the Nimiq birds. |
