We never as a company send out anything on that system. Weekly tests, weather alerts, amber alerts etc are all sent by other parties, relayed through our system and to our customers.
--
Dan Della Terza
WOW!
adymax posted : When I had the local channels with a terrestrial antenna, the local stations weather alerts will come in form of text on the screen and maybe some beeps. Why WOW has to interrupt AUDIO and broadcast an audio message? I want hear and watch TV not get this message every 10 min.

Now with fall approaching we will get audio interruption every week for any rain we get. What’s the point of having cable if we cannot watch TV when it rains?

adymax posted : Is there any way to opt out and not get Weather Alerts? Those alerts are very annoying and interrupt audio on every channel. Last night wow had at least 10 audio alerts for “flash flooding” but not in my area but I get those alerts anyway. Maybe a “beep” to alert us and text display should be enough. Those weather get to a point that TV is unwatchable.
