I ported out two numbers from magicjack over a year ago and now am getting calls from new magicjack customers saying they were assigned my numbers (that have been ported to cell phones) and wonder what is going on.
It is obvious that MJ has a database problem and has no clue what they have control of and what has been ported out.
I feel sorry for those that have been assigned these numbers as I am sure the chat associates have no clue what is going on. Good luck Magic Jack on fixing this mess, that is exactly why I left you.
I told the caller that the numbers belong to me and have for a long time. They then tried to port my number out but that was unsuccessful as of course they did not have my account information from the mobile company and were trying to port out the duplicate magicjack number. So the duplicate numbers can make calls from magicjack only but incoming calls are routed to my cell phone. You would think MJ would use tnid.org or some other database to verify carrier before making numbers available on their system.
Wow. Just wow. Do you guys think this is going to be something they can nip in the bud fairly quickly or is this going to turn into a fiasco to the point the government's going to be forced to get involved?
Who knows, all I know is I paid my $30.00 each to port them out and they can figure it out, I am not going to try to get involved, God knows it wouldn't help anyways. I just told the customer to call his credit card company and get his money back.
