Wow, $300 for permanent service is insane. Wonder what assurances you have and would anything be refundable if say it was no longer available several years down the road.

It's for 7 years. They haven't stated how much service is after 7 years - would think about $25/month. The nice thing is the first resident who pays the $300, someone else who moves in before the 7 years does not need to pay another $300. So it's more like a home improvement fee to get the fiber in, not really a service fee - at least for 7 years. And that's assuming Google stays in the ISP biz for that long.

Its $30, or $25 for 12 months, and you get it for 7 years. Still at $25 a month, heck thats like 1.5/5 dsl IF you have a phone line price, for a 5/5 line. Thats what a a truck full of beer? Most of the people in the lower income areas of kc can afford that. just cut out a case of beer or two a month.

20 years from now is going to be amazing for prices when we get past cable companies having a Government approved monopoly.

You either pay $300 up front and then pay nothing for 7 years or you pay the $300 over a 12 month period ($25/mth) and then pay nothing for the remaining 6 years.

Correct. And if another person moves in a year or few later later, there is no fee for the remaining period.
