Re: Linksys EA6500 Processor speed doesn't mean jack here when you're comparing 2 different types of chipsets. E4200v1 uses a Broadcom chip at 480MHz, E4200V2 is a Marvel 1.2GHz yet it does 1/3 the WAN-LAN throughput.
And the only reason the flash amount is so large on the newer version is the ugly Cisco Connect Cloud firmware requires so much, hence why the Cloud firmware was never ported to the 4200V1 with 16MB flash. See the Cisco community forums for more details on that.
I think the extra memory and/or processor speed was regarding the desire to increase the USB read/write or maybe because it supports 450Mbps on both the 2.4 and 5.8 GHz ranges?
