Because that's not how Bell set the profiles... Not even sure it's possible.

When I use my SS5360 on my 16mbit adsl2+ line, it was syncing up at ~7mbps. So yeah, its very doable.

Disabling support for it, which forced the modem to sync with ADSL1, resolved the issue long enough to get a replacement modem (ended up just getting one from Bell).

That said, with the cost of a good ADSL2+ modem at $25 or less, there's zero reason to do this.

If you want to use another user ID then the data downloaded will be charged to that particular account at this point. I don't think the counter is placed on the port but it is based on the ID from what I hear.

Accounts have nothing to do with ADSL1 or 2+... they're not even related.
