On Demand doesn't work with cable card devises, with or without a tuning adapter.

OK, but does On Demand allocate a SDV channel or what?

QAM frequencies are allocated to on demand just as they are to linear and SDV channels. If there was an over request for on demand you could have problems as was the case when they offered a free on demand movie during the ABC dispute.
