Thanks for the heads up!

I have used DFX for quite awhile now and was disappointed with the "Enhancer" updates in the version 10s.
They never were able to "as advertised" enhance the streaming You Tube or other on line media.
I was never able to get tech support to help correct this after many back and forth emails.

I'm a bit PO'd that I had to pay another $14.95 to upgrade to this latest build 11.016 but FINALLY it is working as advertised and actually enhances the web contents as well.

I also want to add a shout out for their iDFX for enhancing songs in iTunes.
This carries over the enhanced versions when you synch with your Apple devices and is a very noticeable improvement.

Yea. The new version works much better. I think they should offer updates to the new version free of charge as well. The advantage in the new version of DFX it adds a driver meaning it Enhances any audio based app.

Giving the trial a run. WOW! What a difference in the sound, not only music, but ALL sounds. Really had to laugh when emptying my recycle bin. Have a toilet flushing and it sounds as if water is running all around me! Very good!

You would not need any kind of plugin for any media player as new version of DFX installs a virtual driver meaning you do not need any kind of plug in for any media player.

I have a simple dell monitor speaker, the type that clips under the monitor. No fancy speakers or subwoofers.

Will this make a difference for me? Or is for real speaker setups?

This is one thing i do not understand about people who use built In monitor speakers. You can get a nice set of speakers with sub for under $40 »www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a···36116053. Anyway with build in monitor speakers it should make a difference in sound quality.

Well I hate to be the only nay-sayer, but although the volume was noticeably increased in the trial version, I didn't realize much else in terms of enhanced sound. And of course the sliders are mostly unusable until you purchase for $29. But the biggest turnoff for me is the nag screen every ten minutes, disabling the software until you click on it again. If you're gonna let me trial it, please let me trial it fully, then disable it after a week or so. Otherwise I have to buy the software to get a full exposure to it.

The main sliders work fine for me; so did selecting various presets. Which sliders didn't work for you?

I don't have a problem with the nag pop-up -- because in between, as far as I've used it, it is the full version. You can turn it off at any point to compare the current audio playback with and without it so it seems like a good demo to me.

Ah, I see now, the sliders don't move past the midway point. I only adjusted downwards/left for each as it was a bit overkill.

Overall, I think it's still a reasonable demo in my setup.

I gave DFX a try, but had trouble when booting up computer. Kept getting an error to "reinstall program". After 2/3 times, went looking for another similiar program. Found Breakaway, sounds just as good and no errors. Check it here for Win7:

Very odd. I did not have any problems with DFX what so ever.
