Re: The usual anti-authority, pro-piracy bias except you can buy potatoes by the each. Any supermarket will have a bin of them.
Anyway I know that was just an example, The problem is people are justified in not wanting more snooping because it rarely if ever ends up being used ethically, After all once you give someone the keys to the back door how long until they are planting evidence or how long until they are nailing people for things that are not crimes such as using VPNs to get around regional restrictions.
