2Wire to TPlink correctly setup?

I have a 2Wire 3800HGV-B cable modem with the RG45 going from the Router Port (NOT WAN) TO WAN port on TL-WR1043ND. When directly connected to a port on the TPlink the connection is fine but when connecting via the TPLink wireless the connection and surfing the internet is SO SLOW. The WIFI signal is good at 4-5 bars out of 5.

The Networks need to be separate or having the TPLINK Firewall facing the 2Wire network.

The settings are:

2wire is at 192.168.1.254 (DHCP 64 – 253), 255.255.255.0

TPlink is at 192.168.0.1 (DHCP 100-130) 255.255.255.0

The TPLink is grabbing a Dynamic IP from the 2Wire.

I first tried 2Wire WAN port to TPlink WAN port and 2Wire WAN port to TPLINK regular ports and could not get the Internet.

Is there a better way? I do have access to both routers.
