| [Chat] Have to spend money to make money... This is a goofy situation. There is no bus (I didn't know this) on holidays like Monday, so I have to take a taxi. In order to make 34 bucks, I have to spend about 38 bucks on a ride, but at least I won't lose my job! Other parts of the state they HAVE bus on the holiday. First time I've lived somewhere where there was no bus. The good thing is all my nice bus drivers have the day off, I like that, the bad is, well...

Well...don't work too hard on Labor Day...but seriously, if normal public transportation is unavailable for holidays in your area, it would be reasonable to inform your employer that you can not pay more to get to work, than what you are going to earn for that day!
Surely, based on the pay, they must be aware that someone hired for that position might be unlikely to have personal transportation available?

| Yeah Pete, but they asked me about holidays as it is a requirement and I said no problem. Sure, at the time I had assumed that buses ran, because other towns I've lived in around the US had bus service on some holidays. Fortunately, it's only a few days a year.
Taxi was 40 minutes late this morning (but I called for an hour ahead of when I told them I had to be there).
I'm not complaining really, I'm glad to work to be honest. Otherwise I'd just be alone and I don't care for golf which is on TV...
It's only a 4 hour shift so didn't work too hard, just the usual, enough hustle to get the job done...
