Desktop tide app?Anyone know of a good app that will display local tidal information on the desktop? As a shore-bound salmon and sea-run cutthroat angler here in Washington states' Puget Sound that's valuable info and it would be great to have access to it pretty quickly. TIA! |

How about this? » tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/gmap3/...or this... » www.protides.com/map/sta ··· shingtonFWIW I happen to use the free USA Tides app on my iPod Touch for tide info for deep South Texas, ie. the Brazos Santiago Pass at South Padre Island... » itunes.apple.com/us/app/ ··· 696?mt=8See the screen shot for an example of a Puget Sound tide prediction at Bush Point on Whidbey Island.... |

Thanks for your help and those links but what I'd like is to have the tide info automatically displayed directly on the desktop (imposed over the wallpaper). The several weather programs I've used can do this. One would think there's a tide app that would do the same. |

Thanks but no. When I see my initial desktop I want to be able to automatically see my local tidal times and elevations. Is that too much to ask? |

That app seems to simply display a clock-face that shows when the high and low tides occur (denoted by an "H" or an "L" imposed on the face of the clock). I can't see that it displays the tidal elevations in feet. Thanks for trying though! |

OK, found a program called WXTide32 which seems to give me the info I need (including the lunar phase) and it's neatly displayed on my desktop as is shown in the screenie. I'll let ya know how it goes and thanks guys for the various suggestions. ! |

While it doesn't meet your stringent app requirement , I use this: » www.tide-forecast.com/lo ··· s/latest |
