[TWC] Question for TWC head-end techs.

How does a cable company technician adjust the internet speed a customer gets? For example, if a customer is paying for a 10meg/315K service how does the info get from the billing people to the technician that gives the customer that speed? Or does it work that way? Is it true that a code representing a speed must be uploaded to the customer's modem by a technician at the head-end? I would really appreciate knowing how it is done.

It is all automatic from the billing system to the TFTP server where the bin file containing speed provisioning is downloaded directly to the modem.

As Jabbu stated, its an automated process driven by billing.
