NYCPaul join:2000-09-15 New York, NY	[TWC] Question for TWC head-end techs. How does a cable company technician adjust the internet speed a customer gets? For example, if a customer is paying for a 10meg/315K service how does the info get from the billing people to the technician that gives the customer that speed? Or does it work that way? Is it true that a code representing a speed must be uploaded to the customer's modem by a technician at the head-end? I would really appreciate knowing how it is done.

Jabbu Premium join:2002-03-06	It is all automatic from the billing system to the TFTP server where the bin file containing speed provisioning is downloaded directly to the modem.
