 | [Internet] SAGEMCOM 2864 Hosts Names Since I installed Sagemcom 2864 I was unable to replace the "Hostnames:newhost-#" with the actual name of the device such as DVD Player, iPad. etc...Only the PC is identified and the remaining hosts have numbers only. This feature was available with the 2WIRE router and seems to have disappeared with Sagemcom. The only way to identify the device (I have six connected to this router) is by checking the MAC address. I called Bell service and was assisted by a nice girl overseas. After a 45 minutes wild goose chase of trials and errors she determined that Sagemcom does not support this feature. Any one have a solution, please. |

 | Adding an extra router is not a solution for me. I like this 2864 except for that missing feature for renaming host. I will stick with it hoping that update 2.0 will include it. This is probably the most reliable router I ever had since Sympatico deployed the DSL network. |
