Once you have them used to going through checkpoints at airports and train stations etc they'll likely accept them at malls and movie theaters etc. The same applies to monitoring all your communications. I can maybe put up with someone power tripping over freeze tag, but I find something seriously wrong with the demand to put something in my post-checkpoint drink or food. I already paid $5 for my "secure" soda, and I don't need someone sticking ???? into it. I'd just as soon tell them to sit and spin and go sit in the TSA time-out box, or whatever.
